The Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 3D printer is an FDM device for printing items from engineering plastics. The enclosed chamber maintains a stable temperature for materials prone to warping. Automatic calibration eliminates manual settings before every print job. Quiet operating mode allows the printer to be placed in a living space.

Parameter Your benefit
Build volume: 256 × 256 × 256 mm Allows medium-sized parts to be printed in a single pass without splitting the model into sections.
Print speed: up to 500 mm/s (250 mm/s recommended) Reduces production time for batches of parts even with complex geometry models.
Maximum nozzle temperature: 350 °C Opens up the possibility of printing with engineering filaments — PC, PA and fibre-reinforced materials.
Noise level: ≤45 dB Allows the printer to be placed in a living space without discomfort during operation.

The key benefits of the Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 3D printer stem from the combination of heat-resistant components and automated quality control.

  • Heated bed up to 110 °C: ensures reliable first-layer adhesion and prevents warping when printing with demanding materials.
  • Nozzle heated up to 350 °C: allows fibre-reinforced filaments to be printed at high flow rates without loss of extrusion quality.
  • Active vibration compensation: eliminates frame resonance during print head movement, removing ripple and ghosting on the model's surface.
  • Dual-sided removable platform: the textured PEI surface guarantees reliable first-layer adhesion, while the smooth side provides a perfectly flat bottom surface for the part and easy removal.

Materials and temperature control

The Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 3D printer prints with a wide range of materials — from basic to engineering plastics. This is possible thanks to precise temperature control of the chamber, bed and nozzle at every stage of printing.

Enclosed chamber with a smart vent

The smart exhaust vent automatically regulates ventilation inside the enclosure. This maintains a stable temperature during printing and reduces the risk of warping or cracking of parts made from sensitive materials.

Heated bed up to 110 °C

The heated bed reaches 110 °C at a room temperature of 25 °C. Stable heating ensures reliable first-layer adhesion when printing with materials prone to delamination.

Comprehensive part cooling

High-speed cooling fans precisely control the temperature of the workpiece during printing. This is important for fast jobs and models with complex geometry, where overheating spoils the shape of the layers.

Nozzle heated up to 350 °C

The hardened steel nozzle withstands heating up to 350 °C. High heat resistance allows work with PC, PET and reinforced materials. The plastic is deposited at a high flow rate without loss of extrusion quality.

Precision and surface quality

Detail sharpness and surface smoothness here are ensured by three automatic calibration systems that operate without operator intervention.

Nozzle zero-point calibration

The Auto Z offset function precisely determines the nozzle height above the bed before the start of printing. This guarantees reliable first-layer adhesion from the very beginning of every job.

Active vibration compensation

The system detects unwanted vibrations and frame resonance during print head movement. Motion compensation removes the effects of vibration-induced ripple (ringing) and visual contour repetition (ghosting), leaving the model's edges crisp.

Pressure Advance calibration

Pressure Advance calibration synchronises plastic flow with the speed of the nozzle's movement. This removes blobs and sagging at corners, maintaining even wall thickness on the model.

Dual-sided removable platform

The bed plate has two working surfaces. The smooth surface is ideal for PLA and low-temperature printing without part warping. The textured PEI side provides strong first-layer adhesion and easily detaches. Print speed and stability

CoreXY mechanics are combined with a rigid aluminium frame. This allows the Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 3D printer to maintain high speed without loss of positioning accuracy.

CoreXY drive with dual motors

Two 4260 stepper motors independently control the X and Y axes. Low-friction metal guide rods ensure smooth head movement. Print speed reaches 500 mm/s at accelerations of up to 20000 mm/s².

Die-cast aluminium chassis

An integrated die-cast aluminium frame and chassis reduce enclosure vibrations during fast printing. The rigid construction maintains head positioning accuracy even with sudden changes in direction of movement.

Automation and sensor network

Fully automatic calibration and 121-point bed levelling prepare the printer for printing without manual adjustments. All you need to do is load the filament and start the job.

Network of 18 sensors

18 built-in sensors continuously monitor the state of the printer's components during printing on the Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 3D printer.

  • Nozzle clog detection: the system stops printing before material is wasted or the model is spoiled.
  • Filament run-out notification: the printer pauses the job when the spool is empty and waits for replacement.
  • Cutter blade condition check: monitors the functionality of the filament cutting mechanism before every material change.
  • Exhaust vent check: monitors the operation of the chamber's ventilation valve.
  • Fan self-diagnostics: detects cooling faults before they affect layer quality.
  • Part cooling fan RPM drop notification: registers a drop in fan speed and warns of possible model overheating.
  • Bed overheating protection: disables heating if the temperature goes outside normal limits.
  • Power loss recovery: continues printing from the point of stoppage after a power outage.

The internal components involved in this control are shown in the cutaway view of the enclosure below.

Quiet operating mode

The noise level during printing does not exceed 45 dB. This allows the printer to be placed in a bedroom, living room or office without disturbing those around, day or night.
