CreatBot D400 HS — an FDM 3D printer for industrial serial production and functional prototyping, featuring a build volume of up to 420 × 400 × 420 mm. The device ensures the stable forming of large-scale objects from engineering materials at speeds up to 600 mm/s. Automatic nozzle offset calibration and a closed heated chamber reduce the defect rate and accelerate preparation for operation.

Key features and benefits

  • Printing speed: 600 mm/s — Get finished prototypes several times faster thanks to CoreXY kinematics and Klipper firmware.
  • Build volume: 420 × 400 × 420 mm — Print large parts whole without the need to cut and subsequently glue them.
  • Chamber temperature: 70 °C — Minimise shrinkage and deformation when working with composites and refractory polymers.
  • Material flow: 90 mm³/s — Ensure uniform melt extrusion even at maximum print head travel speeds.
  • Smart bed levelling: electromagnetic plane probing in 60 seconds eliminates the need for manual first layer calibration.
  • Idle nozzle isolation: a mechanical flap automatically blocks the channel of the raised extruder, preventing plastic oozing.
  • Filament backup: the printer automatically switches to the second nozzle if the material runs out, continuing the cycle without stopping.
  • Air purification: a built-in dual HEPA filter with an activated carbon absorber captures up to 99.995% of ultrafine particles and volatile substances.

Printing technology and kinematics

System performance is based on an optimised platform controlled by Klipper firmware. The design of the frame and guides is adapted for high accelerations, which negates vibrations during rapid direction changes.

The temperature inside the working volume is maintained at 70 °C thanks to dual-layer insulation. This avoids the temperature shock of polymers during the forming of large monolithic objects.

Automated dual extrusion

The print head is equipped with an independent automatic nozzle lifting system. This mechanism is designed for safe printing with multiple materials, including specialised soluble supports.

The built-in HD camera and photoelectric sensors perform fully automatic tool offset adjustment along the Z and XY axes. The recognition accuracy is 0.02 mm, which prevents the appearance of steps at colour boundaries.

Safety and workflow control

The device supports remote monitoring via an integrated video camera and connection via Wi-Fi or LAN. In the event of a power outage, the coordinates are saved, and the cycle resumes without layer shifting.

A medical-grade external air cooling pump generates stable pressure. Exhaust gas purification minimises the impact of volatile organic compounds in laboratory conditions.

The model offers a significantly expanded workspace compared to conventional desktop printers. This makes it possible to manufacture large-scale structures without dividing them into parts.

Application areas

  • Functional prototyping: fast printing of oversized parts from engineering plastics for assembly and ergonomics verification.
  • Tooling production: creating strong jigs and moulds from composites thanks to chamber heating up to 70 °C.
  • Spare parts manufacturing: replacement of worn industrial components with reinforced nylon featuring high dimensional stability.
  • Design mock-ups: reproducing complex geometries using water-soluble supports without surface defects.
