Carvera PCB Fabrication Pack is a tooling kit for the Carvera desktop CNC machine. The kit turns the machine into a printed circuit board manufacturing line right at home. The set includes consumables for applying solder mask and processing double-sided boards. The Gerber file software converter allows you to work straight away in your usual CAM environment.

- Solder mask: UV-curable paint and a roller form a uniform protective layer, so the tracks don't oxidise and soldering becomes more precise.
- Laser silkscreen engraving: Carvera's built-in laser module applies component markings directly onto the mask, without a separate printer or stencil.
- Double-sided board fabrication: alignment pins secure the blank during flipping, so the holes on both sides line up without offset.
- Gerber → CAD converter: the project file is transferred directly into VCarve Desktop or other CAM software, so there's no need to learn a separate routing programme.
How Carvera PCB Fabrication works
The Carvera PCB Fabrication Pack turns the Carvera desktop milling machine into a complete board manufacturing cycle. Trace milling, protective mask application, silkscreen engraving, and hole mounting are all performed on a single work desk.
Applying the solder mask
The solder mask protects copper traces from oxidation and narrows the flux wetting zone, so the solder doesn't spread onto neighbouring pads. The kit includes UV-curable paint, a roller for even application, and a syringe applicator for spot correction of the layer.
In the blank below, the roller and syringe distribute the protective film over the copper surface before UV curing.
After lamp curing, a spring-loaded cutter removes excess mask from the pads, exposing clean copper for component soldering.
Laser silkscreen engraving
Carvera's built-in laser module engraves component text and graphics directly onto the cured mask. This means no separate stencil or silkscreen marker is needed.
In the photo, the laser traces the circuit outline on the freshly masked blank, forming a contrasting silkscreen for subsequent component mounting.
Contrasting markings make it easier to identify component designations during manual assembly and board testing.
Double-sided board fabrication
Double-sided milling requires precise alignment of holes on both sides of the blank. Alignment pins secure the board during flipping, and step-by-step instructions guide you through each stage of the process.
The double-sided assembly example below shows how separate functional modules are placed on a single board without mutual interference. These are motor drivers, sensors, and a wireless interface.
Software file converter
The Gerber format, generated by most PCB CAD systems, cannot be read directly by milling software. The Carvera PCB Fabrication Pack includes a converter. It converts Gerber files into DXF format for use in VCarve Desktop or another CAM environment.
