Dust neutralisation principle

The Delfin DM2 1/3D INERT uses an inert liquid bath that comes into instant contact with the suctioned dust. Contact occurs even before the dust enters the container. An independent testing body confirmed neutralisation efficiency of over 95 %, which prevents the build-up of reactive material in dry form. This allows the operator to safely collect aluminium, titanium, magnesium and other metal dusts prone to spontaneous combustion. The risk of ignition in the container is completely eliminated.

Construction and filtration system

The housing is made of painted steel, while the removable container is made of AISI304 stainless steel. This combination simplifies emptying the container and washing it after working with reactive dust. The corrosion resistance of AISI304 extends the service life of parts in contact with the inert liquid.

Primary filter

The Star-type primary filter is made of polyester and classified as ANT M in accordance with IEC 60335-2-69. The filter's working surface is 30,000 cm² with a diameter of 500 mm, which reduces fibre loading to 120 m³/(m²/h). The manual cleaning system allows the operator to restore filter permeability without stopping the unit for servicing. The clogging indicator gives timely notice of the need for cleaning.

HEPA filter

An absolute HEPA filter with an area of 26,000 cm² is fitted as standard. An integrated Class H coalescing filter provides additional purification of the air before it is returned to the production area. This two-stage filtration maintains the cleanliness of the work area even during continuous work with fine metal dust.

Safety and ATEX compliance

The marking II 1/3D Ex h tb IIIC T80 °C/T95 °C Da/Dc complies with Zone 20 (internal) and Zone 22 (external). The Ex tb suction head is certified to IP64, ensuring dust-tight connections during suction of reactive dust. Testing of the neutralisation system was carried out in accordance with EN 17348:2022. Compliance of the design with EN IEC 62784:2018 for Zone 22 has been confirmed by the accredited body IMQ.

Motor and performance

The single-phase bypass motor is powered from a 230 V mains supply and draws a current of 10 A at a power of 2.3 kW. Maximum vacuum reaches 2,500 mm H₂O, ensuring stable suction even with a full container. An airflow rate of up to 360 m³/h, combined with a 50 mm suction inlet diameter, allows large volumes of dust to be processed quickly. Noise level does not exceed 74 dB(A), in compliance with regulations for industrial plants.
