The Ortur F10 40 W laser engraver is designed for wide-format cutting and engraving, featuring a 400 × 3000 mm working area that accepts large sheet materials in a single run. The 40 W laser cuts black acrylic and plywood up to 15 mm in one pass. Software-controlled switching between 40 W and 20 W adapts the device to different materials without changing the module.
| Specification | Your advantage |
|---|---|
| Working area: 400 × 3000 mm | Processes large-format sheet materials in a single run without repositioning. |
| Laser power: 40 W / 20 W | Switching between modes without replacing the head reduces changeover time when changing materials. |
| Spot size: 0.1 × 0.15 mm | The narrow beam maintains sharp edge definition even on details smaller than 1 mm. |
| Maximum speed: 20000 mm/min | High speed reduces batch job duration without sacrificing processing quality. |
- Single-pass cutting: the 40 W module cuts black acrylic and 15 mm plywood without repeat passes — minimal production cycle time.
- Flexible power switching: 40 W and 20 W modes on the same head allow switching from deep cutting to fine engraving without replacing the module.
- Wide-format area of 400 × 3000 mm: the pass-through design accepts sheets longer than 3 m without pre-cutting.
- Wi-Fi and USB: job transfer wirelessly via the ORTUR App or via USB cable provides flexibility in device placement.
Ortur F10 Laser Module
The Ortur F10 is fitted with the LU3-40 A module, delivering a maximum output of 40 W at a wavelength of 445 ± 5 nm. The spot size of 0.1 × 0.15 mm forms a precise cutting line, maintaining sharp edge definition even on fine details. The PWM control mode covers power levels from S0 to S1,000, enabling precise energy dosing to suit the material.
Switching between 40 W and 20 W is done in software — no physical head replacement required. At 40 W, the device cuts black acrylic and 15 mm plywood in a single pass. Dropping to 20 W reduces thermal load for heat-sensitive materials such as leather, cotton, and silica gel.
Wide-Format Working Area
The pass-through frame design delivers a working area of 400 × 3000 mm. The maximum material width is 480 mm, the minimum is 65 mm, and the maximum thickness is 15 mm. Sheet stock feeds continuously without pre-cutting into smaller pieces.
Engraving speed reaches 20000 mm/min. Even dense hatching across large surfaces fits within a short production cycle. The frame comprises 70 % aluminium, 15 % stainless steel, 5 % plastic, 5 % brass, and 5 % other materials — a rigid structure that dampens vibration at high feed rates.
Construction and Material Feed
Four height-adjustable support stands stabilise the device on uneven surfaces. The horizontal level set by the stands ensures consistent engraving depth across the full width of the sheet.
Two pressure rollers hold the material flat as it passes through the processing zone. Even pressure prevents edge lift and sheet warping — critical when cutting thin cardboard or leather.
The retractable light connection plate protects the table from scratches and thermal damage during extended cutting sessions. The assembly folds without tools and does not occupy space outside the working area.
Positioning and Automatic Settings
The alignment grid on the platform surface serves as a visual reference for accurate workpiece placement. The feed rollers guide material along the laser positioning lines, eliminating skew at the start of a job.
Adjustment knobs marked with rotation-direction indicators allow material position to be corrected without tools. Once set, the knob locks to hold the position throughout the entire production run.
The auto pin-point setting function places retention points around the perimeter of the cut contour. This prevents offcut material from falling out and the part from shifting as the cut completes. The setting is made via the ORTUR mobile app without interrupting the production flow.
Software and Connectivity
The device supports connection via USB and Wi-Fi. The OLM-ESP-F10_V2.7 motherboard provides data transfer speeds from 115200 to 921600 baud (default: 115200 baud).
Three software environments are supported. ORTUR App is the proprietary mobile application for Wi-Fi control. LaserGRBL is free software for Windows XP, 7, 8, and 10. LightBurn is paid software with Mac and Linux support. Accepted input formats include JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, SVG, and others. Focus is fixed, so no manual refocusing is required before each job.
Applications
- Signage and advertising production: cutting 15 mm acrylic signs and plaques in a single pass reduces the production cycle and eliminates secondary edge finishing.
- Furniture manufacturing and woodworking: engraving decorative elements and cutting MDF parts — the 400 × 3000 mm area accepts full sheet stock without pre-cutting.
- Souvenir and gift item production: personalised engraving on leather, wood, bamboo, and ceramic with a 0.1 × 0.15 mm spot size reproduces fine lettering and photographic textures.
- Technical prototyping: cutting MDF, plywood, and dark acrylic for enclosure parts and mounting templates directly from SVG files.
- Gasket and shaped-part production: cutting felt, leather, cotton, and knitted materials — the 20 W mode reduces thermal load and prevents edge scorching.
- Educational workshops and fab labs: the wide-format area and free LaserGRBL software support lower the entry threshold for digital fabrication training programmes.
Operating Tips
- Protective eyewear: wear the laser safety glasses included in the package before each session — the high-power beam is hazardous to eyesight without appropriate protection.
- Ventilation: ensure extraction or adequate fresh-air supply in the working area — laser processing of wood and acrylic produces fumes and volatile compounds.
- Temperature range: operate the device within -5 °C to 50 °C — outside this range, precision and mechanical performance degrade.
- Material thickness: do not exceed 15 mm for safe through-cutting — greater thickness requires multiple passes and may cause material overheating.
