Ortur F10 10W: Laser Module and Optics

The LU2-10B laser module, rated at 10 W, produces a spot of 0.05 × 0.1 mm at a wavelength of 450 ± 5 nm. The small spot increases power density at the focal point. This is what allows the unit to cut 5 mm black acrylic and 8 mm plywood in a single pass without repeat cycles. The module reproduces 256 greyscale levels for photorealistic engraving on timber, leather and dark acrylic.

Focusing is fixed: once the height has been set using the focusing plate, no further adjustment is required. The power control mode is PWM (pulse-width modulation) with a range of S0–S1,000, providing smooth intensity adjustment for different materials and thicknesses.

Roller Feed and Mechanics

The roller feeder moves material along the Y axis without restricting its length. Maximum workpiece width is 480 mm, minimum is 65 mm, and maximum thickness is 15 mm. The design accommodates boards, rolled materials and long panels that cannot be processed on a fixed-bed engraver.

Dual pressure rollers hold the workpiece evenly across its full width. Aligning grids serve as a reference when positioning material. The adjustment knob allows precise positioning without tools.

Structural Safety Features

The Automatic Pin-point Setting function holds the material in the set position and prevents cut residue from falling onto the work surface. The manual adjustment knobs on the frame allow precise material positioning before a job is started.

The retractable light connection plate shields the table from direct laser exposure during operation. Support stands stabilise the structure on varied surfaces. The frame — comprising 70 % aluminium and 15 % stainless steel — maintains rigidity during extended operation.

Software and Connectivity

The engraver connects via USB or Wi-Fi. Three software environments are supported: the proprietary ORTUR app, the free LaserGRBL (Windows XP / 7 / 8 / 10) and the paid LightBurn (Mac and Linux). Accepted input formats include JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, SVG and others. The data transfer baud rate ranges from 115200 to 921600, with a default of 115200.
