The xTool F2 Ultra UV with the Auto Streamline™ Conveyor is a 5 W, 355 nm UV galvanometer laser engraving system designed for both micron-level precision work and automated batch production. A smart dual-camera vision system identifies each item on the belt and maps the design to it automatically. This turns a desktop precision engraver into a compact production line without manual repositioning between pieces.

Specification Why it matters
Laser Type: 5 W 355 nm UV Laser Cold photochemical processing removes heat damage risk on wood, glass, ceramics and other heat-sensitive materials.
Working Area with Conveyor: 200 × 500 mm Doubles the standard surface working length for long-format designs or continuous batch runs.
Laser Spot Size: 0,02 × 0,02 mm Enables text and marks smaller than a millimetre with no loss of edge sharpness.
Conveyor Max. Load: 10 kg Supports heavier batches of metal, glass or crystal items in a single automated run.

Feature → Benefit: The 355 nm UV wavelength breaks molecular bonds instead of generating heat, so it produces burn-free edges on wood, leather and organic materials without pre-coating or post-polishing.

Feature → Benefit: The Auto Streamline™ Conveyor's smart camera auto-detects each object's contour, so operators load material and collect finished pieces without manually repositioning designs between items.

Feature → Benefit: Two switchable field lenses cover both surface engraving (200 × 200 mm) and inner 3D engraving (70 × 70 mm), so one machine handles glass sculpture work and flat marking without hardware changes.

Functionality

Why UV at 355 nm Changes Everything

Most desktop lasers work in the infrared spectrum, engraving by generating heat. The 355 nm UV laser instead relies on photochemical bond-breaking: high-energy photons disrupt molecular structures with almost no thermal transfer to surrounding material. This cold processing is why the F2 Ultra UV produces burn-free edges, skips pre-coating or post-polishing, and processes heat-sensitive substrates that CO₂ or fiber lasers would destroy.

The UV spot size measures 0,02 × 0,02 mm, over 100 times smaller than a typical CO₂ spot. Combined with 0,001 mm vector resolution, this makes it possible to engrave text as small as 0,3 mm, mark watch movements and chips with 0,2 mm positional accuracy, and create 3D subsurface sculptures inside glass.

Wavelength advantage: the 355 nm position on the spectrum behind the micron spot size, clean edges and expanded material range.

On wood, the difference between thermal and cold processing is visible at a glance. A conventional laser leaves dark, scorched edges, while the F2 Ultra UV produces clean relief texture with zero charring — no masking tape, chemical treatment or sanding required. The same clean-process behaviour extends to soap, chocolate, silicone and ceramics, materials that warp or discolour under heat.

Auto Streamline™ Conveyor and Batch Production

The conveyor closes the gap between a single-piece precision engraver and a production system. It arrives pre-assembled, connects with one cable, and hands control over to the machine's smart camera. It suits both a fully automated factory-style setup and the same unit running batch jobs on a home desk with a single operator and a laptop.

Two work settings: the same conveyor deployed on a factory line and on a single-operator home desk.

To run a batch, materials are placed on the belt, the job is confirmed in xTool Creative Space, and finished pieces are collected at the end. The smart camera identifies each item's shape and maps the engraving design to it precisely, removing manual repositioning between pieces.

Installing the conveyor extends the standard 200 × 200 mm surface working area to 220 × 500 mm, a two-fold increase in engraving length that supports large-format designs and long-item production runs.

The bundle pairs the F2 Ultra UV — with its amber-tinted protective enclosure and external touchscreen controller — with the conveyor, a compact aluminum-alloy platform that connects directly to the machine's base with dedicated fastening pieces.

The conveyor covers two distinct production modes. For large formats, it moves material under the stationary laser so a design spanning the full 220 × 500 mm becomes one uninterrupted job. For batches, multiple identical objects sit side by side — pendants, spoons, card blanks or tokens — and are engraved in a single pass.

Beyond preview, the smart camera identifies each object's contour on the conveyor and maps the design to it automatically — visible here as xTool Creative Space detects circular coasters on the belt and positions the artwork to each one while the operator monitors from a laptop.

Glass Mastery and Dual-Lens Precision

No other desktop laser handles glass the way a UV source does. The F2 Ultra UV can focus the beam beneath the surface of glass blocks, crystal balls and transparent acrylic to create permanent 3D subsurface engravings while the outer surface stays untouched. Processing speed reaches up to 180% faster than traditional UV machines, and surface operations include flat engraving, embossing, cutting, and rotary engraving up to 150 mm diameter.

Three glass products engraved with the xTool F2 Ultra UV: a commemorative whiskey glass with surface engraving, a crystal block with a 3D inner-engraved chess knight, and a resin seahorse pendant with rotary engraving
Glass and rotary work: a surface-engraved glass, a subsurface-engraved crystal block and a rotary-engraved pendant.

Two switchable field lenses — one for inner engraving (70 × 70 mm) and one for surface work (200 × 200 mm) — let a single machine cover both workflows without mechanical modification. These lenses are specific to the F2 Ultra UV and are not interchangeable with standard F2 Ultra optics.

Two 48 MP cameras work in tandem for autofocus, automatic positioning and real-time preview, reaching 0,2 mm positioning accuracy — 60% more precise than single-camera systems. A LiDAR ranging system adds a second verification layer for accurate focus on curved and irregular surfaces.

A 0,001 mm vector resolution and 0,00133 mm motion resolution in inner engraving mode produce detail that rivals industrial marking systems — fine enough to keep text micro-engraved on a diamond ring readable under magnification without damaging the gemstone surface.

Safety, Enclosure and Build Quality

The F2 Ultra UV ships pre-assembled with Class 4 laser safety certification. An emergency auto-stop halts the beam immediately if the enclosure is interrupted. The conveyor is compatible with the protective enclosure — keep the enclosure no more than 5 mm above the material surface during operation, and reserve conveyor operation for trained personnel, since diffused laser beams may exit the enclosure openings. The machine operates from 10 °C to 30 °C and stores down to -10 °C.

The conveyor belt is made from PU material certified to California Proposition 65 standards, a safer alternative to common PVC belts. Its aluminum alloy frame weighs 8,545 kg, keeping it easy to reposition. The PU belt spans the full 500 mm travel length and handles items up to 81,5 mm thick, while the compact 1002 × 290 × 89 mm footprint fits alongside the engraver on a standard workbench.

Applications

  • Jewellery and watchmaking: Micro-engraves text on diamond rings and marks watch movements with 0,2 mm positional accuracy, without damaging gemstone or component surfaces.

  • Glass and crystal gifting: Creates 3D subsurface sculptures inside crystal blocks and glass balls while leaving the outer surface untouched, for personalised photo blocks and trophies.

  • Batch production studios: Uses the Auto Streamline™ Conveyor's smart camera to engrave up to 10 kg of identical items — pendants, flasks, coasters or tokens — in a single automated pass.

  • Heat-sensitive materials: Processes soap, chocolate, silicone and ceramics through cold UV processing, avoiding the warping or discolouration that thermal lasers cause.

  • Transparent and reflective materials: Engraves fully transparent acrylic, clear glass and silicone that CO₂ and fiber lasers reflect or pass through without effect.

  • Branded merchandise at scale: Marks keyboard keycaps, acrylic business cards, metal medallions, denim and ceramic mugs across the expanded 220 × 500 mm conveyor working area.

  • Large-format engraving: Moves material continuously under the stationary laser to engrave a single design spanning the full 500 mm conveyor length, such as a family photo panel.
