Metal Powder FastForm Ti6Al4V 15–53 Microns, 5 kg

Optimise your Additive Manufacturing workflows with the FastForm Ti6Al4V Metal Powder 15–53 µm, 5 kg. Designed specifically for Selective Laser Melting (SLM) systems, this aerospace-grade titanium alloy powder guarantees high-density parts with superior fatigue resistance. It is the material of choice for engineers who require strict compliance with geometric tolerances in critical medical and industrial applications.

Capabilities of the FastForm Ti6Al4V Metal Powder 15–53 µm, 5 kg

Superior flowability and particle distribution

In powder bed fusion, the consistency of the coating process defines the quality of the final part. This powder features a strictly controlled particle size distribution (D10: 12~25 μm to D90: 45~60 μm), optimised for uniform layer dispersion. The high sphericity — where fewer than 10% of particles deviate from a perfect form — ensures excellent flowability (≤50 s/50g). This minimises the risk of coater jams, resulting in components with predictable mechanical properties and reduced internal porosity.

Grade 23 ELI for critical applications

The FastForm Ti6Al4V Metal Powder 15–53 µm, 5 kg is formulated as Ti6Al4V ELI (Extra Low Interstitial). By keeping interstitial elements such as oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon to a minimum, this alloy offers superior ductility and fracture toughness compared to standard Grade 5 titanium. This makes it indispensable for the manufacture of biomedical implants, such as joint prostheses requiring biocompatibility, as well as lightweight aerospace components like turbine blades and structural brackets where failure is not an option.

Production efficiency and compatibility

Achieving a tap density greater than 2.5 g/cm³ enables dense packing during the printing process, reducing the need for extensive post-process Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP). The material is designed specifically to work seamlessly with FastForm industrial printers, providing a stable melt pool under laser exposure. To prevent oxidation during the melting process, this powder must be processed in an environment protected by argon gas.
