Revopoint MetroY Handheld 3D Scanner is a versatile laser scanner designed for indoor use. It is built for scanning small to medium-sized objects and is suited to professionals and advanced users. MetroY uses multi-line laser scanning.

The scanner is equipped with advanced optical components:

• 30 cross blue laser lines 
• 15 parallel blue laser lines 
• 1 single blue laser line (for narrow or deep areas) 

This combination delivers a high level of surface detail, including dark or glossy surfaces, without the need for scanning spray in most cases.

Metrology-grade accuracy:

• Single-frame accuracy – up to 0.02 mm
• Repeatability (precision) – up to 0.01 mm

Volumetric accuracy:

• 0.02 mm + 0.04 mm

• In laser mode – up to 1,500,000 points/sec

• Up to 0.05 mm 

Automatic Scanning with Turntable

Unlike MetroX, MetroY does not support automatic turntable scanning with structured light in the standard version (non-Pro). This feature is exclusive to the Pro version. 

MetroY Scanning Modes

MetroY supports three laser scanning modes:

• Cross-lines 
• Parallel lines 
• Single-line laser (for narrow or deep details) 

These three modes are sufficient for processing the majority of geometries, particularly where a very high level of structured light is not required. 

Scanning Complex Surfaces

• Glossy and dark surfaces: MetroY can scan glossy or dark materials without spray in many cases, using laser mode. 
• As it does not feature full-screen structured light, some surfaces with complex textures may require the use of markers or conditions that facilitate tracking.

Markers and Advantages

• Use of markers and global markers to improve tracking and positioning 
• Revo Metro software (or the corresponding Revopoint software) supports working with Point Clouds, mesh construction, scan merging, and export to popular formats: PLY, OBJ, STL, ASC, 3MF, GLTF, FBX 
• Wi-Fi 6 compatibility and wired USB-C connection for real-time data transfer

Controls and Additional Features

• The scanner features 4 physical buttons for starting/pausing a scan, adjusting exposure, and digital zoom during scanning.
• Built-in RGB camera (2 MP) for colour capture of surface textures.
• Temperature control system to minimise deviations caused by heat build-up during extended operation.
