Raise3D Forge1 3D Printer
The Raise3D Forge1 3D printer opens up a genuine alternative for rapid production and small-batch prototyping of metal parts.
A generous build volume of 300×300×300 mm gives you real freedom of design.
The Forge1 is the first Raise3D printer to work with metal filaments. The metal-based print materials were developed in close collaboration with Forward AM (BASF's 3D printing solutions brand). The result of that research is a seamless interaction between the Forge1 and BASF's metal filaments Ultrafuse® 316L and Ultrafuse® 17-4 PH.
Raise3D Forge1 3D Printer Features
- Extended build platform capabilities.
- Automatic bed levelling.
- Glass build plate.
- The specialist ideaMaker Slicer for metal provides templates for all processes.
- D200-E and S200-C for debinding and sintering processes.
- Forge1 prints are MIM-compatible.
- The dual printhead is capable of printing with metal filaments.
- Large build area of 300×300×300 mm.
- Time-efficient and environmentally friendly technology.
- Improved packing density in printing.
Raise3D MetalFuse Metal 3D Printing System
The all-in-one solution proposed by Raise3D includes:
- A special version of the ideaMaker Slicer.
- High-quality materials from BASF.
- The Forge1 3D printer, for indirect 3D printing of high-quality, high-strength "green" parts.
- D200-E catalytic debinding furnace.
- S200-C vacuum sintering furnace.
In this way, MetalFuse provides a complete production cycle for metal parts compatible with MIM equipment. Its advantages include low overhead costs and the possibility of series production and scaling via a 3D printing farm. MetalFuse consumes less energy and is more environmentally friendly compared to processes such as CNC and SLM (Selective Laser Melting).
Forge1 printers are economically viable for building a printing farm for on-demand production of metal parts.
Advantages of "Green" Parts Printed with the Forge1
- Consistent production of complex parts.
- Achievement of a smooth surface on the finished part.
- Possibility of dual-material printing.
- Guaranteed high assembly precision.
- Reliable handling of batch printing.
- Strength characteristics allow parts to be sent for outsourced debinding and sintering.
The green parts obtained on the Raise3D Forge1 3D printer must undergo debinding and sintering processes before they are ready for use.
Raise3D Forge1 Advantages
The dual extrusion system with electronic lifting and precise kinematics delivers high print speed and accuracy. The machine also features several smart functions that optimise the workflow, including automatic bed levelling, a filament run-out sensor, a HEPA filter with activated carbon, and much more. The Raise3D Forge1 prints with high-quality metal filaments from BASF, which contribute to the simplicity, efficiency, and safety of the printing process, as well as to the highest possible product quality. All of these characteristics make the Forge1 a reliable tool for small-series production of end-use parts with outstanding mechanical properties.
MetalFuse System
It is recommended to use the Forge1 3D printer alongside the specialist MetalFuse series equipment. In this way, the polymer is removed from the model during the catalytic debinding process, resulting in pure metal with residual binder. During sintering, the remaining binder is further removed at a temperature below the melting point of the metal. The product thus reaches its final hardness and strength properties.
Print Quality
The Raise3D Forge1 3D printer prints at a layer thickness of 0.25 to 0.1 mm, enabling mass printing of parts with smooth exterior surfaces. The new catalytic debinding method not only reduces processing time by 60%, but also allows the density of produced parts to reach up to 97% of the level of wrought iron. The machine is equipped with a silicone heating platform with an automatic levelling system that ensures precise calibration. The Forge1 comes with 0.4 mm (default), 0.6 mm, and 0.8 mm nozzles for all your printing needs.
