Form Cure Post-Curing Unit

The Form Cure post-curing unit delivers maximum performance for the Formlabs Form 2 SLA 3D printer. It is a precision device, capable of fine adjustment to bring parts to their peak mechanical properties. For standard photopolymer resins, simply use the default time and temperature settings in Form Cure. For all other materials, apply the unique recommended settings for optimal performance. The rotating turntable ensures uniform UV light exposure during post-curing. This guarantees even curing throughout. The chamber heats up to prepare parts for optimal curing results.

Post-Curing Formlabs Resins

The Form Cure post-curing unit helps your printed parts achieve their greatest possible strength and stability. Optimal curing settings depend on both the material and the geometry of the part itself. Below you will find the recommended curing time and temperature settings. Thick, bulky parts may take longer to reach the required temperature throughout. Unless otherwise stated, over-curing is permitted. For biocompatible polymer parts, follow the curing instructions provided in the relevant instructions for use or the application guide.

1 The recommended post-curing settings deliver mechanical properties close to optimal whilst minimising post-curing time. Full post-curing settings provide optimal mechanical properties. When using materials for functional applications, use the full post-curing settings.

2 This curing setting ensures parts achieve both biocompatibility and optimal mechanical properties. Read the Instructions for Use for a full description of the workflow.

3 Cure for 4 hours to increase part strength. Extending curing time can improve casting results, particularly for thicker parts, although casting success depends more significantly on part geometry and the casting process itself.

4 No additional post-curing is required. After washing, allow parts to dry completely before burnout / casting.

5 Fill a glass container with glycerin. Heat the glycerin to 80 °C in the Form Cure. Use heat-resistant silicone tongs to fully submerge the assembled prosthesis in the glycerin inside the Form Cure. Cure for 30 minutes. After the first 30 minutes of curing, turn the prosthesis over to the opposite side. Cure again for a further 30 minutes.

6 For parts printed with Durable Resin, the elastic modulus increases during the first hour after curing.
7 After 15 minutes, no significant increase in properties is observed. There is only one recommended post-curing time.
8 Several post-curing options exist for High Temp Resin V2 and Rigid 10K Resin. Consult the technical data sheet to understand how different parameters affect mechanical properties, and choose the post-curing option that best suits the intended application.
9 This curing setting ensures parts achieve both biocompatibility and optimal mechanical properties. Remove supports and sandblast between post-curing cycles.
