Formlabs Fuse Depowdering Kit Sifter 150 Sieve is a replacement and accessory sieve for the Fuse Depowdering Kit, designed to filter unsintered SLS powder after part extraction. What the 150 µm Sieve Does in Your SLS Workflow
Every SLS build leaves behind a mix of reusable powder and solid debris — broken chunks from the cake, fused fragments from the print enclosure, or loose contamination picked up during extraction. Left unfiltered, this debris enters the next cartridge and risks blocking the recoater or introducing print defects. The Sifter 150 Sieve addresses this directly: after the Fuse Depowdering Kit extracts parts, unsintered powder is funnelled through the 150 µm mesh. Particles larger than 150 micrometres — chunks, sintered fragments, and foreign matter — are captured and discarded. Clean powder passes through and flows into a storage cartridge, ready for the next build at the correct refresh ratio.
The result is a closed, contamination-controlled powder loop. Recovering and reusing unsintered powder is one of the main economic advantages of SLS over other additive processes, and a clean sieve is the single point in that loop where powder quality is verified before it re-enters the machine.

Compatibility Notes
The 150 Sieve is compatible with the full range of Formlabs SLS powders: Nylon 12, Nylon 12 GF, Nylon 12 Tough, Nylon 11, TPU 90A Powder, and others — with one exception. Nylon 11 CF Powder (carbon-fibre reinforced) requires the coarser 300 µm sieve due to the chopped fibre content, which would clog a 150 µm mesh. If your workflow includes Nylon 11 CF, ensure you have the correct Fuse Depowdering Kit Sifter 300 Sieve on hand for that material.
Tech Tip: Inspect the sieve mesh after every 10–15 build cycles, or whenever you switch powder types. Fine glass-filled powders (such as Nylon 12 GF) are more abrasive and can accelerate mesh wear. If you run multiple materials, consider keeping a dedicated sieve per material type to eliminate cross-contamination in the sifting stage.
