The Formlabs Fuse Depowdering Kit Sifter 300 Sieve is a 300 µm replacement sieve designed exclusively for use with Nylon 11 CF Powder on the Fuse 1+ 30W SLS printer. After part extraction, it filters reclaimed unsintered powder — removing chunks, debris, and carbon-fibre agglomerates — so the material can be safely stored in a cartridge and reused in the next build. All other Formlabs SLS powders are compatible with the standard 150 µm sieve included with the Fuse Depowdering Kit.
Why 300 µm Instead of 150 µm?
Nylon 11 CF is a carbon-fibre-reinforced powder. Its particles are coarser and its flow behaviour differs from unfilled nylons: the standard 150 µm mesh restricts flow too aggressively and causes blockages. The 300 µm opening is sized precisely to let the CF-loaded powder pass through freely while still catching oversized debris that would contaminate the next print or damage the recoater blade.
Powder Recovery Workflow
Once parts are extracted using the Fuse Depowdering Kit, the unsintered powder is channelled into the sifter. The 300 µm mesh captures any chunks or foreign debris while allowing clean, reusable powder to pass through into the collection tray below. The recovered material is then transferred directly into a cartridge, ready for the next build cycle — closing the loop on powder management for Nylon 11 CF.
Tech Tip: Do not use this 300 µm sieve with standard Formlabs SLS powders (Nylon 12, Nylon 12 GF, TPU 90A Powder, etc.). The coarser mesh will pass debris that the 150 µm sieve would normally catch, potentially contaminating recovered powder and shortening recoater blade life. Keep the two sieves clearly labelled and stored separately.

Step 1: Extract Parts
Complete part extraction from the build chamber using the Fuse Depowdering Kit. Separate the printed parts from the surrounding unsintered Nylon 11 CF Powder.
Step 2: Funnel Powder into the Sifter
Channel the recovered unsintered powder into the 300 µm sifter. The wider mesh aperture accommodates the coarser particle morphology of carbon-fibre- reinforced Nylon 11 CF Powder, ensuring smooth, unobstructed flow.
Step 3: Sift to Remove Debris
Allow the sifter to filter out chunks, agglomerates, and foreign debris. The 300 µm mesh retains oversized particles while passing clean, reusable powder through to the collection tray below.
Step 4: Transfer to Cartridge
Transfer the filtered powder from the collection tray into a Nylon 11 CF cartridge. The reclaimed powder is now ready to be blended with fresh material at the recommended refresh rate for the next print job.
